Rotterdam-Hague Airport, formerly Rotterdam Airport and known as Vliegveld Zestienhoven when it was built in 1956, has been the Netherlands' second-largest regional airport after Eindhoven Airport in terms of passenger numbers since the end of 2006. The airport is located in the Zestienhovensepolder, just north of Rotterdam. The airport is owned by the Schiphol Group, whose shareholders are the Dutch state and the municipalities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. In 2010, over one million passengers passed through the airport, an increase on the previous year.
