Denmark

In the land of hygge

So what's the secret behind this country that has been ranked among the happiest on the planet?

Small in size, Denmark is a constellation of islands with little relief. So much so that the boundaries between land and sea can sometimes seem blurred. Each is a destination in its own right. Each one offers its own unique sights and lush, green countryside, so gentle it's tempting to linger. And as the sea is never far away, the weather can change abruptly, for better or for worse. But rest assured, the most «Latin» of Scandinavian countries often enjoys milder weather than its northern neighbors. And its people are also warmer, more ready to party and enjoy the pleasures of life. With their distinctive approach combining relaxation, distance from obstacles and gratitude for the present moment, the Danes seem to have found the ideal balance for a fulfilling life. A philosophy with a name that has now spread around the world: the hygge.
