South Africa

Rainbow country

A quick impression of space and escape. South Africa is the perfect choice for an adventure holiday. in complete freedom.

If you want to see and experience exceptional wildlife in the best possible conditions, South Africa is the place to go. And it's a safe bet that you'll spot the Big Five, whether by 4×4, on horseback or even on foot. The coast and ocean are equally rich in wildlife, from whales and great white sharks to penguins and seals. A country so diverse in its landscapes and culture that it's hard to see it all in a single trip. But it's a pleasant place to visit, thanks to its excellent roads and quality accommodation. And the food in this mixed-race destination is just as good.

Between us

  1. One hour ahead of Western Europe in winter, no time difference in summer, South Africa is an ideal destination for those who don't suffer from the time change.
  2. The rainbow nation recognizes 11 official languages, but in practice, English is widely spoken.
  3. Don't hesitate to rent a car to explore the country at your own pace, as the network is on a par with that of a European country.
  4. Try your hand at a ‘braai’, the South African barbecue, a true national pastime.

When to go?

Certainly during the austral summer, which is fairly dry on the western coast. In the knowledge that you don't risk too much if you travel all year round, apart from a few rains.

Packing

Lightweight pants, shorts, T-shirts and swimwear. Woollens for evenings and stays at altitude. Good bush shoes and sneakers. A rain jacket, especially in the wet season and in the mountains. Warmer clothes during the southern winter (including hat and gloves). On safari, sunglasses, binoculars and practical clothing. Avoid bright colors.
