St Kitts and Nevis

St Kitts and Nevis

Mountain beauty in the tropics

Saint Kitts and Nevis is a tiny federation of two islands, or to be more precise, two mountains in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, some of the most authentic in the West Indies.

It is named after the patron saint of travelers. St. Kitts, short for St. Christopher, was the first British colony in the West Indies. Eminently strategic, nine fortresses protected it from enemy powers and pirates, to the extent that it was nicknamed the «Gibraltar of the West Indies». The island has retained its typically British nonchalant yet polite charm. The island's finest beaches are to the southwest, bordered by gentle hills and salt marshes. Today, St. Kitts is an independent state associated with the neighboring island of Nevis, dominated by its extinct volcano. Separated by a channel just 3 km long, Nevis is a particularly authentic island. Here, you can enjoy a retreat from the past in old colonial mansions converted into charming hotels.

Ideal for

Seaside holidays, honeymoons, water sports, trekking, scuba diving.

When to go?
