Frequently awarded Europe's most immersive theme park, Phantasialand is much more than just an amusement park. Located in Brühl, near Cologne, it's a permanent invitation to travel through fantastic worlds, different cultures and unforgettable sensations.
Its story begins modestly in 1967. Two friends decided to open a park in an old open-cast brown coal mine. Almost sixty years later, Phantasialand is the Germany's second most visited park. It is now divided into different themes where adventure, surprise and wonder are intertwined through award-winning attractions, fairy-tale rides for children, breathtaking shows and the refined gastronomy for which Phantasialand is renowned.
One park, many worlds
Phantasialand stands out for its thematic universes each with its own unique ambience:
- Berlin This is where you enter the elegance of 1920s Berlin, with its retro facades and street performances.
- China Town A tribute to imperial China, with its pagodas, gardens and Asian restaurants.
- Deep in Africa the traditional African village, but also the intensity of the inverted roller coaster Black Mamba.
- Mexico A warm and festive atmosphere with attractions such as Chiapas, the fastest-flowing wild river on the planet.
- Fantasy a fairytale kingdom for the very young, with indoor roller coasters like Crazy Bats and Winjas Fear & Force.
- Mystery medieval atmosphere and guaranteed thrills with Taron, Raik and Mystery Castle.
- Rookburgh The latest addition to the park, this steampunk quarter is home to F.L.Y., the world's first flying roller coaster integrated into a hotel.
What's new in 2025
The park is constantly evolving, and 2025 sees the opening of several new attractions in the heart of the Wuze Valley, in the kingdom of Fantasy:
- « Phenie's Shakes and Pancakes« . A new space that transports you to a world of gourmet delights, dreams and wonder. Where Phenie pancakes stack up like magical mountains. Where milkshakes surprise like works of art. Where rooftops are topped with delicious toppings and lamps drip from the ceiling like coulis. A sweet feast for the taste buds and the eyes!
- « Winni Splash« . Here, little adventurers plunge into a watery world full of surprises. Little ones' eyes light up as soon as they enter this giant playground. Splashing in the stream, laughing under the fountain, spinning the water spiral, their imaginations begin to sparkle.
- « Wavy Battle« . Ready, set, go! Welcome to a playground that splashes in all directions. Who will hit the most targets? And above all, who will knock the other team off their feet? But beware: not all shots hit what you're aiming at, and sometimes a well-prepared attack can backfire.
Spectakeys and gastronomy
While Phantasialand is renowned for its thrills and spills, it doesn't stop at attractions. The park also offers breathtaking shows, including the famous dinner show Fantissima. The latter combines culinary art and stage performances. On the catering side, each universe also features traditional dishes, from romantic brunches to Mediterranean tapas and all manner of exotic flavors.
Stay in the world of your choice
To extend your experience and your stay, Phantasialand offers three theme hotels :
Hotel Matamba (Africa). An immersive stay on the African continent, but with all modern comforts. Relax in savannah-inspired surroundings.
Hotel Ling Bao (Far East). Designed according to the principles of Feng Shui, it offers a typically Asian atmosphere and a harmonious wellness experience. Relax in the indoor and outdoor pools, stroll through the oriental garden and pamper yourself at the Mandala Spa.
Charles Lindbergh. A Steampunk world, integrated into Rookburgh. Awarded Europe's most themed hotel in 2024. Here, you spend the night in an aeronaut's cabin and experience the industrial world of aviation and explorers. This exclusive experience is only available via an all-inclusive package and is accessible to guests aged 8 and over.
Please note that all theme hotels offer a direct private access to the park.
Before you leave
The park is open daily until January 25, 2026, with extended hours in summer. Tickets are available online only, with prices varying according to date and age.
Opening hours summer season: from April 5, 2025 to November 14, 2025, daily from 9am to 6pm minimum.
Winter opening hours: November 15, 2025 to January 25, 2026.
