Visit Blegny Mine<\/strong> is one of the only coal mines in Europe accessible to the public. Under the seaside resort Porto Cristo<\/strong>, east of Mallorca, the Caves of Drach<\/strong> are a karst network of 2.4 km<\/strong> of galleries descending to 25 meters<\/strong> underground. The site, consisting of four cavities, was shaped by the infiltration of seawater since the Miocene. It's impossible to describe the feeling that overtakes you when discovering the incredible prehistoric frescoes of Altamira. The realism <\/strong>and the finesse <\/strong>desk movements of these bisons<\/strong> coming from the depths of ages continue to move scientists, writers, artists, and all those who have the chance to admire them. Cantabria definitively marked the study of prehistory because the painted cave of Altamira was the first to be discovered in the world<\/strong>. It was in 1868, and the story goes that it took the exploration of other caves in France to admit the existence of refined art dating back more than 15,000 years. Perched on the hills of Luosto, in the heart of Lapland, this mine is one of the few amethyst deposits still being worked. by hand<\/strong>. 10. Wieliczka Salt Mine (Poland)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Near Krakow, this mine (still in operation) has become, over time, a veritable City of Depths<\/strong>. Slowly carved over centuries in the rock salt deposited by a prehistoric sea as it dried up.
